Green Energy

Green energy is a neologism used to refer to sustainable and renewable sources of energy that are eco friendly (‘to help turn some of the planet back to the color green’ is a loose etymology of the term). Concepts and items considered green must also be non-polluting.

Solar power, wind and hydro are all considered forms of green energy. Traditional fossil fuels such as oil and coal are the opposite of this concept because they will eventually run out; they pollute the atmosphere during all phases of production, distribution and usage; and are used as political leverage on top of all that.

Converting the planet to using green energy will take efforts by every person, company and government. Grass roots movements to promote renewable energy claim the only way to make a difference is to begin in the home.
