Solar Heating

Active solar heating technology is how energy from the sun is converted into usable heat. A passive system just collects the energy. There are two types of active solar – air-cooled and liquid-cooled.

Whether a system is air-cooled or liquid-cooled depends on the type of fluid heated in the collectors. Air-cooled active solar heaters are often used in applications that do not require storage. Liquid-cooled systems are popular for use with storage systems.

Using active solar heating to heat a home can drastically reduce utility bills in the winter. Solar energy systems often qualify for local, state and federal rebates and tax incentives. Solar also reduces your personal impact on the planet.
