Solar Lights

Solar lights are usually powered with a small array of solar panels that collect and convert solar energy for immediate use. Light fixtures, solar street lights and other outdoor lights are popular applications of this technology. The lights can also be equipped with batteries that store excess energy for use in the dark or on cloudy days.

Solar lights can be purchased for use with residential or commercial applications. Gardens and other landscaping features offer great opportunities to learn about solar technology and make it work for you. Lights can line pathways or even be big flood lights. Solar energy makes these lights pretty much self-sustaining.

Other solar lights can even be for indoor lighting. Some manufacturers even offer complete kits for solar indoor lighting in case of emergency or for off-grid applications such as a remote cabin. For example, kits can include CFL bulbs, a 19-watt solar panel and a large capacity battery box.
